The best local beach for small children is Avila Beach. In 2000, this beach and much of its business district underwent a huge renovation that included the construction of a new boardwalk and beachfront park. Most businesses have already returned and now is a perfect place for families to live.

The tiny beach community of Avila Beach is home to less than nine hundred residents and is only about a mile and a half in area. Most of the homes in this area have market values listed between $200,000 and $500,000. Many people in Avila Beach also rent apartments; most renters pay between $500 and $1000. Most houses are considered urban, but there are many houses found in rural areas as well. Many real estate agents are available to help new potential residents find the homes of their dreams.
